Welcome to Our August Family Bible Reading Plan!

Theme: The Holy Spirit

Parents,

This month, your family will spend time discovering who the Holy Spirit is and why He is such an important part of our relationship with God. While many children know about God the Father and Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit can sometimes be harder to understand. Through these daily readings, you'll see that the Holy Spirit has been active from the very beginning of creation, empowered God's people throughout the Bible, and continues to guide, comfort, teach, and strengthen believers today.

Each day's reading is short and designed to spark meaningful family conversations. You don't need to have all the answers! Simply read the passage together, ask a few questions, and encourage your child to share what they notice. Some days the conversation may last just a few minutes, while other days may lead to deeper discussions. The goal isn't to rush through the reading—it's to help your child know God more personally.

Throughout the month, remind your child of this simple truth:

The Holy Spirit is God, He is always with those who trust in Jesus, and He helps us become more like Christ every day.

Our prayer is that this month strengthens your family's faith, encourages meaningful conversations, and helps your child recognize the Holy Spirit at work in their everyday life.

Thank you for taking the time to disciple your child at home. Even a few minutes spent reading God's Word together can have an eternal impact. We are praying that your family grows closer to the Lord as you learn about the amazing gift of the Holy Spirit together this month.

Parent Discussion Guide

Talk About It (Use Throughout the Month)

1. What Did We Learn About the Holy Spirit Today?

Help your child discover who the Holy Spirit is by discussing His role throughout Scripture.

Talk About It:

  • What is one new thing your child learned about the Holy Spirit today?

2. How Does the Holy Spirit Help Us Every Day?

Help your child connect God's Word to everyday life by looking for practical ways the Holy Spirit works in believers.

Talk About It:

  • How can the Holy Spirit help us at school, at home, with friends, or when we face difficult situations?

  • When can we ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom, courage, comfort, or self-control this week?

3. How Can We Live What We Learned?

Encourage your child to move beyond learning and begin living out God's truth.

Talk About It:

  • What is one thing our family can do today because of what we read?

  • Is there someone we can encourage, forgive, pray for, or help this week?
